Goan Cuisine

A Journey to enjoy the flavor of traditional Indian Goan cooking......

Goa, a coastal state, revels in its sea food dishes, but is also famous for its Pork vindaloo, Sorpotel. The Goan cuisine is an exotic blend of portuguese heritage and indigenous flavour. The good food is built around rice, coconut and fish.

The first meal of a Goan in Goa starts at 9 am eating rice congee with a little pickle or Kalchi Kodi(yesterday's curry) and ends the day with rice and fish curry meal.

Breakfast with average goans is just tea with bread called as Pav. Vegetables are not very important in a Goan food.

Feni, a liquor distilled from cashewfruit or else palm toddy is the most famous drink and is consumed in plenty.
